20 Month Photo Session: Rocking The Ponytail

My wife started putting Avery’s hair in a ponytail not too long ago and it’s the cutest thing to see. Parenting bias aside, you can’t can’t argue with her tiny top tail paired with that precious face.

I mean…..amiright? That was the only still shot we got out of this constantly growing and non-stop crazy girl. I think her hair looks a little like Cindy Lou Who from How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

Today we are back at it with our family from PA. This time, instead of a brewery, we are checking out a new vodka distillery that’s close-by. The name of the vodka is TreyMark and, get this, it’s made with black-eyed peas as the main ingredient!

I’ve found that I have been growing a little tired of beer and enjoy sipping my libations rather than drinking in volume. Needless to say, I’m excited and hope we all have a great time as my mom continues her 60th birthday celebration with friends and family!

Now, on to the 20 month photos. I don’t have much to say, but I think “crazy”, “cute”, “hair”, and “poor bear” sum it up quite well. Check them out and tell me if you agree.

Oh wait….ahhhh, she loves the arm on her chair.

Annnddd apparently no love for the bear.

So, would you agree with my four words of summation? Seriously, that poor bear never catches a break!

Ever try a vodka or another spirit distilled differently from the mainstream? If not, would you?

Does your kid have a favorite stuffed animal that they love to abuse but also love?

  1. Hi R.C.,

She is so dang adorable and I love the Ponytail! I totally agree with the Cindy Lou Who comparison. Your four word description was spot on! Reading your posts takes me down memory lane to when my kiddos where that age.

To answer your question as short as I can… Brooklynn loved La La from the Teletubbies, Kelsey loved Dora the Explorer, Jaynee loved Molly the doll from the PBS show with Lunette the clown can’t remember the name it’s been like 16+ years since she was that age, and Dustin loved his My Buddy doll. The four of them tortured the heck out of those dolls/stuffed characters constantly!

As for trying vodka or another spirit distilled differently from the mainstream I have never had the opportunity to do so but I definitely would! My brother-in-law and I use to try all kinds of beers together, before I quit drinking beer, but never thought about spirits… I am going to have to look into doing just that now. lol

    Wishing you a beautiful day!

    Much love,
    Lysa xx

    1. Hey Lysa, long time no talk! Glad you agree about Cindy Lou Who, and thank you for the good options! I’ll give those a try soon.

I’m definitely loving the spirits more, and hope you get a chance to give them a go soon. In moderation, of course. 🙂

      1. Sorry it’s been so long since I’ve stopped by. I have been dealing with health problems with the disease in my feet, etc. Haven’t had the energy or strength to do much lately but I saw the email about this post and couldn’t resist seeing Avery’s 20 Month pictures. She’s just so dang cute!

I love my spirits, in moderation, as well. I’ve always been a whiskey, Jack Daniels to be exact, kinda gal but have really gotten into the flavored vodkas. I did not even realize they distilled vodka from anything but potatoes lol And the truth be told I don’t even know if that is true or not an old friend told me that when I was in my early 20s and believed him for the last 20 years. hahaha

I’ll try to not be such a stranger and stop by more often.

        xx

        1. Hey, no worries, Lysa. I’m actually trying to force myself to tone it down on the blog and social media in general since it’s been really digging in to spending quality time with family. I get so wrapped up in writing the next post that I don’t just stop and enjoy the time with those around me. Anyway, always great to see you around and thanks for the compliments!

Scotch and vodka (unflavored) are my go-to spirits and I love them on ice or mixed with a little Zevia. Oh, and vodka was first all from potatoes, but it’s hard to find potato vodka anymore. Due to costs of shipping, handling, storage, and production with potatoes, most distillers just use grain….most corn. ugh I do have a potato vodka and enjoy it though, just make sure to ask your liquor store for help finding it.

Hope you’re doing much better now and I’m sure we’ll see each other around!

          1. Thanks for the info about vodka R.C. I use to enjoy a glass of Scotch and water with an ex and his Dad all the time. Great memories! Now I want a glass to sip on. I can’t even remember the last time I had a drink. lol We even have a few bottles of spirits on hand.

Good luck with slowing down with the blogging it is rather addicting to say the least! However, it has been a nice break from blogging for me but I do miss interacting with people regularly. I am trying to find something to write about but don’t have much to say. It will come to me eventually when I’m feeling more like me again.

Thanks for the well wishes! No changes in my condition but am getting a 3rd opinion on the 4th. Keep your fingers crossed for me and a few prayers couldn’t hurt either! lol

            Talk to you soon!

            xx
